Track (M1, M2, M109)- Tank Inspector (Overseas)

Job Summary

Track Inspector: The track inspector is responsible for inspecting any repairs on track vehicles as identified on the density list. The track inspector is responsible for the identification and troubleshooting of electrical, hydraulic, power train, and additional malfunctions, with the ability to expeditiously repair them to 10/20 standards. The track inspector may provide technical advice to lower-level technicians. The track inspector must be able to test faulty equipment and apply comprehensive knowledge of the functional operation of track vehicles and systems to diagnose the cause(s) of malfunctions, apply repairs, and solve complex problems.

Minimum Requirements

  • A minimum of five (5) years of specific experience in track vehicle maintenance operations, supervision, inspection, QA, or related areas.
  • Must also possess superb mechanical skills as well as mastery of hydraulic and/or pneumatic systems.
  • Knowledge of Army/Marine Corps maintenance technical publications related to track vehicle maintenance is a must.
  • Experience needed on one or multiple vehicles outlined: M1 Abrams, M2/M3 Bradley, M109 Howitzer, M88, and M113 class vehicles (M548A1/A3 Cargo Carrier, M577A2/A3 Command Post Carrier, M901A1 Improved TOW Vehicle, M981 Fire Support Team Vehicle, M1059/A3 Smoke Generator Carrier, M1064/A3 Mortar Carrier, M1068/A3 Standard Integrated Command Post System Carrier, Mechanized Smoke Obscurant System, and OPFOR Surrogate Vehicle (OSV)) or their British equivalent.
